Everyone has a defining moment in their life. For Francisco Marez, it was the moment he decided to get clean and leave his life as a mob boss behind him.
At age 8.
While he is adamantly anti-crime he is even more adamantly anti-police. He runs a class called “Criminal Systems” and it’s never entirely clear to which system he is referring. He unironically wears a fedora and leather simultaneously and looks like he invented the term brooding. He is fond of standing in the rain alone, occasionally while monologuing. He gets savage pleasure from running detention, but will also cry if a student has had a hard upbringing or mentions childhood trauma.

- Professor Marez is mentioned in episode 1.5 of Live From Averno by Quinn, who passed him walking back from the Birdcage one night. Marez was reportedly monologuing to the air about ‘tearing it down’ and ‘nothing can be saved’ and ‘corruption runs deep, dismantle, redistribute’. When Quinn simply replied 'mood', he looked at Quinn and said "Yes, Quinn. That is the mood." (despite them not having a previous interaction, leading both Quinn and Will to question have Marez knew his name)
